Described by Transport Canada as a “non-propulsion vessel”, these were designed and built under license to marine standards within Gordon Yacht Harbour Marina. The Marina, as the 2nd oldest in Ontario, has a history of boat building since 1886 including manufacturing lifeboats for the Canadian Navy. These units are moored within adjoining slips at the Marina.
Originally built circa 1890. It was, for the longest time, the Marina caretaker’s residence. It was restored in 2004. The original logs were retained but re-chinked. Plumbing and fireside heating were added along with a small kitchen. This unit is considered the “retreat” and would serve very well as a studio suite.
This two-bedroom cottage was moved to the present site just a few years ago and was remodelled and rebuilt from the interior to the outside. The outdoor Gazebo and a treed area could provide a creative area for children. A fire pit is located in the front yard and a BBQ is on the front veranda.
